Seaham Rugby Union Football Club

A warm welcome

.proudly sponsored by.

.Thanks for logging onto our official club website.

We are a Level 9 team currently plying our trade in Durham & Northumberland Division Three. We only have one senior team at present but advocate squad rotation at every given opportunity in order to promote equal sporting opportunities for all of our squad members.

Plans are in place to increase our playing numbers and field more than one senior team in order to strengthen the club and build towards our future. Ideally we would like to field a 2nd XV that would compete in the Durham Junior League and provide healthy competition for places in our 1st XV.

We all pride ourselves on being a family friendly club where members are actively encouraged to bring along their partners, children and friends. New faces and old ones are always warmly welcomed. The club has a long-term goal of establishing and maintaining a Youth Section but a lot of help will be required to put this theory into practice.

We recently moved our headquarters to Seaham Leisure Centre; site of the renowned Harpers Gym. The excellent facilities on site should support us to achieve our goals of taking the club forward whilst becoming an integral part of the local community. There is ample parking including disabled bays.

Please contact the club if you are interested in getting involved. See the Contact Numbers section on the menu bar to the left for further information.

 Training

Pre-season training has started. Club coach John Whitehead is leading sessions from Seaham Leisure Centre at the times listed below. Please try to make it to the car park 15 minutes in advance so that you can warm up and be ready to hit the sessions running.

  • Tuesdays: 7.00pm (meet 6.45pm)
  • Saturdays: 12.00pm (meet 11.45am)

The club has received it's programme of league fixtures for the forthcoming season (see Fixtures section to the left for further details). A big season lies ahead of us and we need to start our preparations now.

Last season we took great leaps forward and moved three places up the league. How far can we improve this season? That's up to you. The ball is in your hands... literally. See you there. New faces are always welcome.

In the meantime, do you want to keep fit and maintain your body in optimum condition over the summer months? Do you want to get a head start on all of your mates as they turn themselves into couch potatoes whilst watching the footy World Cup? If you answer a big YES to both questions, follow this link http://www.britmilfit.com

We are desperate for new players in all positions as we aim to expand our squad numbers, field two teams every week and play our way back to happier times. If you are a new player wanting to learn the game, or even a seasoned player from another club looking for a fresh challenge, we could well be the club for YOU !!!
